Cultivating Effective Workplace Communication
ABOUT THE TEACHER:
Hello! My name is Erica Ranade, and I am a behavior analyst. That means I work with people from all walks of life to help them operationalize, collect information, set goals, and implement interventions to help them be as successful and independent as possible. I have two masters degrees in Psychology from Illinois State University, and I have spent the past decade working in school districts, private clinics, independent practices, and university settings. I am passionate about staff training, management skills, and using behavioral strategies to make meaningful lifestyle changes.
ABOUT THE CLASS:
Your boss just gave you a deadline that you cannot possibly meet. Your co-workers have been pushing you to voice concerns on their behalf, but you’re concerned what will happen if the conversation does not go well. Your team is not not meeting their quarterly objectives, and you have to provide them with feedback.
Do these scenarios sound familiar? We are confronted with workplace challenges daily. One of the best tools in our arsenal is communication; however, finding the specifics of how to navigate workplace communication is difficult. This interactive workshop will identify specific, meaningful skills to help you develop solution-focused, confident communication skills by focusing on the objectives below:
* Solving problems and avoiding problem admiring
* Establishing and maintaining workplace boundaries
* Cultivating confident communication skills
* Managing conflict and navigating feedback
* Defining your communication baseline and creating goals
This online workshop will be highly interactive and scenario-based with take-home materials that will be tailored to your specific needs.
MATERIALS STUDENTS WILL USE IN CLASS:
No materials required for this course.
STUDENTS WILL TAKE HOME:
Students will receive fillable take-home goal development and skill tracking. Communication skills assessment will be provided for all students. Tip sheets will be provided for use in the workplace.
