Networking for Introverts & Newbies
ABOUT THE TEACHER:
After a decade of success in sales and marketing for global corporations like General Electric, BlackBerry and Rubbermaid Commercial Products, I returned home to Louisville to launch my career as a professional writer. In less than a year of launching my freelance business, I gained a solid list of clients and brought on my first sub-contractor. How'd I do it? Through networking. I learned the art of networking while climbing the corporate ladder and through hitting the streets as a salesperson. She repurposed those same skills to launch my freelance career. I gained business from people I stayed in touch with from my past, happy clients referred new clients to me and I got my name and services out by hitting the networking event circuit. And now I'm partnering with Level Up to teach you how to do the same!
ABOUT THE CLASS:
You don't have to network like an extrovert to be successful. I've found that most people don't feel comfortable entering a room of strangers to make the connections they need to move their career forward or launch the business of their dreams. Or they've received outdated information from people who haven't had to search for a job in years. In this workshop, I break down how to effectively network in 2020 and tips and tricks you can use to make you feel less nervous about making the right connections. I'm holding this class at the all-new, women-owned, Trouble Bar in Shelby Park. We'll have the cozy section in the front of the bar and after the workshop, you can help yourself to their Happy Hour specials (and maybe even put your new networking skills to use right away!).
STUDENTS WILL TAKE HOME: There will be handouts for you to take home so you don't forget any of your new rules of networking!
Minimum age requirement: 21 or older.
Something to take notes with.
