ABOUT THE TEACHER:
Hello! My name is Erica Ranade, and I am a behavior analyst. That means I work with people from all walks of life to help them operationalize, collect information, set goals, and implement interventions to help them be as successful and independent as possible. I have two masters degrees in Psychology from Illinois State University, and I have spent the past decade working in school districts, private clinics, independent practices, and university settings. I am passionate about staff training, management skills, and using behavioral strategies to make meaningful lifestyle changes.
ABOUT THE CLASS:
The current public health crisis has changed our home dynamics significantly. Caregivers are now expected to be parent, teacher, counselor, and activity coordinator. In this interactive workshop, you will develop the following skills:
- Setting up the home environment for academic and social-emotional success
- Implementing techniques to improve cooperation and self-management
- Creating accountability systems for caregivers and children
- Developing guidelines for leisure and enrichment activities
- Providing meaningful rewards and consequences
MATERIALS STUDENTS WILL USE IN CLASS:
Guided notes will be provided for active participation during the workshop.
STUDENTS WILL TAKE HOME:
Take-home materials, including visual schedules and accountability checklists, will be provided after the workshop.
