Photography for Beginners - Document your Summer!
ABOUT THE TEACHER:
Well hello, there!! I’m Natalia, Founder and Chief of Happiness here at Level Up but what you may not know about me is that I was a professional photographer for almost a decade! I’m originally from Colombia. Over the last 15 years, I've fallen deeply in love with the culture, food, and, most importantly, the people of Louisville, Kentucky.
My background is in Business Management and Marketing, but I have a passion for loving and investing in people and community. I started my entrepreneurial journey as a crazy Colombian lady with a camera with my very first business (ChocolateBox Photography) where we specialized in modern photography for families and documentary photography for baby's first year as well as Weddings, followed by Story (a community-based co-working space) and lastly Level Up. Though my path as a founder continues to evolve, teaching and sharing what I've learned with others continues to be incredibly important to me and photography will always hold a special place in my heart, as a creative outlet, a way to express the way I see the world and document the people I love.
ABOUT THE CLASS:
I'm excited to be spending some time together teaching you the basics of photography and giving you my best tips and tricks on how to document your everyday life with amazing photos. In this class, you’ll learn:
- How to correctly expose your photos using both manual and automatic settings
- How different settings affect your photos
- How to compose an awesome photo
- How to find the perfect light, indoors or outdoors
- Tips and Tricks on how to get great photos no matter what camera you have! *Hint: you don't have to have a fancy one, your iPhone will do!
There’ll be plenty of time for Q&A.
My goal for you is that you'll leave this class confident in your ability to snap great shots using your camera’s manual settings, and have the ability to focus on creating and documenting your life and your loved ones!
MATERIALS STUDENTS WILL USE IN CLASS:
It helps to have your camera and camera manual handy for this class (so you can locate all the buttons!) I highly recommend spending some time looking over it prior to class and locating your ISO, shutter speed and Aperture controls so you can get the most out of class.
STUDENTS WILL TAKE HOME:
We will not take home a project but I will be prompting you with a follow-up challenge for after class!
Minimum age requirement: 15 or older
This is a live-online course and will take place over Zoom. A link to access the class will be sent along with your order confirmation.
